What is Generation Rx?
The Generation Rx Initiative, developed by The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy and funded by the Cardinal Health Foundation, is an educational program that increases public awareness of prescription medication abuse and encourages healthcare providers, community leaders, parents, teens, and college students to actively work to prevent abuse. What is the Provider Toolkit?
The Provider Toolkit, created by the ETSU College of Pharmacy Generation Rx team, aims to start the conversation among healthcare providers about prescription drug abuse. Our Generation Rx team enlists the knowledge of professional students from the Colleges of Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health on the ETSU Academic Health Sciences campus. The Provider Toolkit provides the information and resources necessary for each healthcare professional to become educated on prescription drug abuse and how to prevent it.
Our presentation includes a case study brought to life through film, basic information on abuse and addiction, and the steps we can take as healthcare professionals to fight prescription drug abuse. We believe that by working together as an inter-professional team, we can begin to put a stop to the prescription drug abuse epidemic.
Found within this website are resources for every professional. Please use these tools to further educate yourself and your patients in order to make an impact in everyday practice. If you would like to see any additional resources or information, please feel free to contact us.
